Olu of Warri, others at Foursquare Men retreat

OVER 10,000 male participants including His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse II, the Olu of Warri with several of his traditional chiefs, gathered at the Ajebo campground of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria last weekend for the church’s annual Council of Foursquare Men (CFM) retreat. Theme of the three-day programme was; “Empowerment for Greater Glory”.
The event featured a variety of ministrations including seminars on entrepreneurship, business and career talks, all packaged to equip and remind participants that, as salt of the earth and light of the world, they are duty bound to be change agents wherever they find themselves.
The general overseer of the church, Rev. Felix Meduoye, in his message, charged the men to put into practice all they have learnt during the programme, stressing that as Christians, frequent spiritual empowerment is crucial for success in their respective divine assignments.
Urging the men to exhibit God’s glory in their day to day activities, Meduoye said the purpose of empowerment is to place one in a vantage position to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the nation.
Emphasising the need for constant spiritual empowerment, the General Overseer maintained that such empowerment “will enable us as men to overcome various challenges of life including and not limited to family, health, personal, business, ministry amongst others. God is counting on us to manifest His glory in all areas of life.
“God has made available enough resources for us to overcome any life challenge,” he stated, noting “it is God’s will that we declare His glory in all realms of human existence.”
CFM national president, Brother Churchill Ayerume described the retreat as “awesome,” adding that “no one can have good success without deep knowledge of the word of God. Success goes beyond physical prosperity. Only wealth acquired righteously will abound.”
Chairman of the retreat planning committee, Mr. Thomas Omorobe was impressed by the large turnout of participants, arguing that if participants put to practice what they learned at the retreat, the nation will be better for it.
One of the speakers, Brother Benson Ogunbamiwa urged churches to teach biblical virtues that will help build solid Christian foundation.
Sharing his experience, Timileyin Akinpelu from Foursquare Kingdom Embassy, Igando in Lagos thanked God for the opportunity, saying the ministrations were heart-touching and impactful just as Mr. Tope Ajayi joyfully appreciated the retreat planning committee, who he said, did a marvelous job.
His words: “This year retreat is unique in its entirety; right from the logistic, turnout of participants to the ministrations, I have been wonderfully blessed. I appreciate the efforts of the organising committee”.
