MASSOB slams Obasanjo

statement credited to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, that the struggle for a Republic of Biafra had become an avenue to defraud unsuspecting members of the public, the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, (MASSOB), on Monday said the self-determination struggle remained on course, expressing optimism that the project would be achieved.

This came as a faction of the Movement accused its Leader, Ralph Uwazuruike of sabotaging the struggle.
The movement in a official reaction to Obasanjo’s remarks to the effect that the struggle was dead said though some “bad eggs within the struggle” had turned it to a business venture, the determined ones were still committed to the original agenda.
The statement signed by Comrade Uchenna Madu, factional National Director of Information, MASSOB, said the Biafran struggle remains a genuine movement.
Madu said contrary to Obasanjo’s claims, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, and Director Biafra Radio, was totally committed towards realizing Biafra.
