David De Gea: Man United keeper could miss Euro 2016 for Spain
"If he doesn't play it will be very difficult for him to come," the reigning champions' coach Del Bosque told Spanish newspaper Marca.
De Gea has made five appearances for Spain, whose first choice remains Porto's 162-time international Iker Casillas.
He has linked up with the Spain squad for Euro 2016 qualifiers against Slovakia and Macedonia, while United and Real argue over responsibility for the failed transfer.
"If I do feel the need to talk to him about it then I will say something," Del Bosque added.
"He needs to be professional and move on from this episode. I hope that he starts playing again and is happy, and if he plays well we can bring him along." His Manchester United and Spain team-mate Juan Mata told AS he thought De Gea would remain professional. "He's a great goalkeeper and any team would be boosted by his presence. The fans will get behind him, and all of us." United winger Ashley Young told BBC Sport everyone would be "pulling in the right direction". |
